Recently opened Anna Restaurant at central Jerusalem's Ticho House offers a unique combination of beautiful location at the historical building of the Israel museum, high quality Italian cooking, and a social program for youth at risk.
Established as a social business by the Dualis social investment fund, Anna now operates an employment and training program for youth at risk, in the purpose of helping the disadvantaged beneficially integrate into society. The social program is working in cooperation with Hut Hameshulash organization and the Jerusalem municipality.
Anna restaurant's unique concept was developed in cooperation with Chef Moshiko Gamliel, of Jerusalem's Mona restaurant. The Italian style dairy-kosher menu currently includes lunch and dinner; breakfast to be added in the near future. Anna restaurant is also available for any family or business event, with a private room and a large porch. The garden surrounding the building is also available for events of 200 guests or less.
The Ticho House was one of the first ones erected outside the walls of Jerusalem's old city in the second half of the 19th century. Anna restaurant resides in the building's recently renovated second floor, while the first floor is populated by the Israel Museum displays, which include both changing exhibitions and the Ticho House permanent exhibition.
The initiation of Anna was aided by the Wohl philanthropic foundation and the social initiative foundation, run by the Israeli Social Security, the Ministry of Finance and the National Economic Council.
Anna is much more than a restaurant; it is a social business. With the help of a professional team of workers and their strong social awareness, we have created a special place where youth at-risk is trained, employed and provided with an opportunity to acquire a profession and change their own life course.
