Rama's Kitchen

Special Dinner + Concert + Recipe
Thursday January 26

Rama Ben Tzvi opened "Rama's Kitchen" fifteen years ago as an anecdote: a homestyle restaurant in the hills of Jerusalem, open only for the weekend clientele...

Since the winter of 2008, the restaurant is active in it's special winter version.
The wood patio overlooks the serene view of the Judean hills, taking your breath away. The atmosphere of the restaurant adjusts to each season.
In the spring and summer, the Sukkah patio is open to the mountain air. In the winter, a warm fire crackling in the fireplace warms and brightens the Sukkah under its roof.

Over the years, the restaurant has become a known food establishment, one of the desired and dependable in the area.
The menu is a culinary encounter of Mediterranean, Provence, Southern France and local Arabian cuisines. The basic idea is to be simple and close to the earth and the conditions of the immediate atmosphere in terms of ingredients and style.

The kitchen is conducted by Chef Tomer Niv, a graduate of the Fat Duck Restaurant in London.
In dialogue with Rama, Tomer creates original dishes that provide a stage for local raw ingredients to flourish.
You will find dishes on their menu such as Lamb Ousso Bouku with citrus sauce served with red mashed potatoes
and Eggplant Bal'adi wrapped in kadayef stuffed with feta cheese and caramelized onions in a zucchini sauce.

The fresh herbs and many of the vegetables used in the dishes come from the garden at the back of the restaurant which regulars often visit.
Our delicacies, from the bread baked in our taboun oven at the center of the restaurant to the stunning desserts, are all made on the premises.

Open also in the winter

At its inception the restaurant was open only seasonally in the spring and summer.
Since December 2008 we invite you to our special winter version
in an intimate warm atmosphere - in the firelight we offer you a special weekend menu with winter indulgences and are available for private events with pre-planning.

Cabins

There is also a cabin for those who want to keep enjoying the indulgent experience.
