Carrousel

Carrousel

Stephan, the French chef, was the owner of a well-known restaurant in France.  After immigrating to Israel he taught at the Tadmor cooking school for a number of years. Stephan then opened his own very special place – Carrousel.

Carrousel is a word that is understood in every language, and the whimsical carrousel motif can be felt in the restaurant’s design and in the pictures of Paris cityscapes. This is a small and intimate place, able to seat only 16 diners at a time, serving gourmet French food, handmade by the Chef who posits that even if he were to cook couscous, it would come out French.

Carrousel’s menu is kosher dairy, offering fish dishes, various quiches, lasagna and soups. The homemade pastas and special French desserts, less familiar to the Israeli clientele, are highly recommended. Stephan prepares tarts, crème brulee and even ice cream from scratch in the restaurant’s kitchen. He explains that people come great distances just to taste his specially made desserts, made using traditional rustic French recipes.

Especially unique at Carrousel is how it has created a kosher gourmet French kitchen – this is Stephan’s specialty, who even in France managed to get French people to eat kosher food. And yes, all the food served is homemade – from the bread to the ice cream.

Business special dishes are offered starting at NIS 30. Small events can be held for up to 20 guests inside the restaurants. Catering services can be ordered for events of up 120 guests.

Chef Stephan also runs special cooking workshops.
