Armando is a fish restaurant located on the Tel Aviv boardwalk combining three elements that make every meal at the restaurant a special event: a selection of fresh and seafood, a rich wine menu and an intoxicating view.
Armando was founded by Armando (Ami) Kadosh who got started in the business managing the Benny Hadayag restaurant chain and developed a true love for fresh seafood. This love of the sea and fish led him on a long search for an attractive location with a view of the sea. In the end, he found what he was looking for and recruited architect Yossi Even to design a European style restaurant with Mediterranean island motifs. The restaurant’s kitchen doesn’t compromise and uses only the freshest fish, only the best vegetables, olive oil, olives, and authentic labane that comes from Arab villages in northern Israel.
Meals at Armando start with addictive homemade bread and a selection of fresh salads prepared on site. The menu features fish dishes such as: corvina, shula filet, bass, mullet, salmon filet, red mullets, sea bream and grouper steak, as well as a selection salt water dish by the weight, including farida, sea bass, grouper, needlefish, and salt water corvina. Seafood lovers will also easily find themselves at Armando, and even meat lovers won’t be disappointed.
Armando’s flagship dish is a pot of Morrocan dish, a legacy of Armando’s mother’s kitchen. The dish is served to the centre of the table and includes grouper/tilapia in tomato, garlic, pepper and herb sauce. The dish must be ordered at least 24 hours in advance.
Armando believes that ‘good fish goes with good wine.’ In accordance with this principle, you will enjoy a rich selection of white, red and sparkling wines at reasonable prices (NIS 90-180). The wine cellar contains Israeli wines alongside French, South African, Italian and Spanish wine – along with a few surprises.
